The quarter kicked off big when Mrs. Klaus was nominated for the Educator Spotlight with the Nebraska Art Teacher Association, such a fun surprise! It has been a busy quarter for the Art classes and Mrs. Klaus. Getting ready for the Pioneer Art Show and next month the Youth Art Month Exhibition and Program at the State Capitol. I hope you went to see the Art Show at the Pioneer BB Tournament at Sacred Heart School. These three 7th grade Art Students won these awards in a bracket of 7-12th Grade... GREAT JOB LUCY, LILY AND BRIA!!!
Some of the Elementary classes have been focusing on all the emotions our hearts feel, what it looks like, how we recognize it and how we can best handle it with Emotional Hearts Artwork inspired by Chris Uphues. Others are working on caring creatures artwork and older ones worked on Jim Dine inspired heart painting techniques. The Art 8 class is back after 12 months of not having art class and started with their color mixing, drawing and painting project Color Wheel Eyes. The Ceramics class is working on projects and starting to use High Fire Clay next week, they just finished the first firing in the kiln with their gnomes and are ready to start glazing them.
