6th Graders Teach the Kindergarteners
We are taking a break from reading (for now)! The roles have been flipped allowing the 6th graders to be challenged to teach our kindergarten buddies. The 6th graders were assigned to teach addition by using math manipulatives. By allowing students to pick things up, examine them closely, and move them around, manipulatives aid in their understanding of abstract concepts. Using math manipulatives helps build a cognitive understanding that will help students connect the ideas they are learning. It was a mutual activity between our K-buddies and very beneficial for all!
