2nd Grade Learns About Christmas Dinner Traditions Around the World
Penny Holtmeier, Jefferson County Extension Assistant, visited the 2nd grade classroom. Penny taught us about Christmas Dinner Traditions Around the World. We learned about the United States, Mexico, Italy, England, Japan, Sweden, and Ethiopia. The students located all of these countries on a world map. Then the students tried to match food picture cards to the correct country. It was interesting to see which food came from each country. Penny also shared a few foods from other countries. We tried pickled herring, fruitcake, and Christmas Kringle. We appreciated Penny coming to share information about Christmas Dinner Traditions from Around the World.
