Griffin Art News
Greetings Griffin Nation! I have to start with a BIG THANK YOU to Robin and Larry Stanoshek for the donation of a pottery wheel and kiln along with a plethora of ceramic supplies to add to our Art Program. Can't wait to show you what we are able to do with these gifts from them, the support of the community is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for Diller-Odell Schools. The Art students and their teacher have been busy. Summer break meant getting Jefferson and Gage County Fair Art Entries delivered, picked up, and returned to students at the beginning of the school year. The students who received Blue and Purple ribbons for the artwork are pictured in this article. - This semester students are creating and ready to share their talents, the elementary bulletin board has an all-school art installation based on the style of the artist "Thankyou X" and his cubist mural style. Each student created a cube using their class color. This week the elementary students are creating art for the Grandparents Day Celebration. The 7th-grade art students are starting the year with abstract paintings. The woods class asked the art classes to work with them on a fundraiser. We are collaborating and making sports booster signs for our community, so far footballs, volleyballs and soon softballs, basketballs, and other sports will join the yards of our Griffin communities. The art students are working on their lettering and shading painting skills as their part of this fundraiser. Thank you in advance for your support of our Wood and Art Classes through your orders. This year is off to a spectacular start!
