2. Financial Items

2.1. 2024-2025 Budget overview
The Board reviewed Superintendent Meyerle's budget recommendations for 2024-2025.  Superintendent Meyerle recommends an overall decrease in the tax request by $191,009.  The decrease is possible due to a reduction in the Special Building request and an increase in financial support from the state.  The district is fortunate to not need to participate in the Joint Public Hearing at the county level.  Participation in that hearing is only required if school districts need to increase their tax request beyond their established limit.

Superintendent Meyerle recommends setting the General Fund levy at .540995 cents as opposed to .598267 in 2023.  He recommends setting the Special Building Fund Levy at .070000 as opposed to .117975.  The overall levy will see a .105247 decrease (a little over 10 cents).

The next Regular Board meeting is scheduled to follow the Budget Hearing and Tax Request Hearing on September 9, 2024 at the Elementary School Media Center in Diller.  The 2024-2025 Budget Hearing is scheduled for 6:30pm.  The Board will hold the 2024-2025 Tax Request Hearing on September 9, at 6:45pm or at the conclusion of the Budget Hearing.  The regular meeting will be held at 7:00pm or at the conclusion of the Budget Hearing and Tax Request Hearings.  The Board of Education will usually adhere to the sequence of the published agenda, but reserves the right to adjust the order of items if necessary and may elect to amend the agenda as deemed necessary.
